Entrepreneurship education occupies a key role in the Europe 2020 strategy for growth and jobs. Business failure –and one’s ability to learn from it– is recognised as a vital topic within entrepreneurship for good reason given the high rate of business failures. However, a new framework of financial and non-financial early warning signals, emerging from academic work, could enable entrepreneurs to recognise and intervene to prevent failure.
